Corporate non-core assets released to the market
01 July 2016: Property investors and local business owners are gearing up for the auction of two industrial properties in the Benoni and Vanderbijlpark areas in the Gauteng region. These properties will be sold with vacant occupation.
According to Elias Tzouvanni, Co-Director of Nexus Property Group (NPG) and auctioneer for the northern regions, “These sales are as a result of a shift in business strategy by large corporates, creating an opportunity for investors or owner-occupiers to acquire a property that has been held by the same owner for over 20 years. Although the auctions are subject to a reserve price, expectations are realistic”.
Greg Nafte, Co-Director of Nexus Property Group says that “NPG’s corporate real estate services department identified an auction as the preferred method of disposal as the properties have been identified as non-core to the sellers. The objective is to realise a fair market value for each of the properties within a finite period of time. To ascertain a fair market price, NPG will embark on a broad-based marketing campaign and the highest offer will be presented for acceptance”.

Located in the industrial area of Boksburg East, this property has been held by the owner and occupied since 2001. The facility, extending over 19 923m2 with 9091m2 under roof, encompasses a reception area and offices, open storage spaces, workshops and onsite parking bays. The auction will be held on site at 8 Van Dyk Road, Benoni at 12pm on 14 June 2016.
